Samsung has officially launched the One UI 8 beta program for its Galaxy S25 series—comprising the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra—in key markets including the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, and South Korea. This beta release, based on Android 16, marks a significant upgrade in Samsung’s mobile software, integrating advanced AI-enhanced features. The One UI 8 aims to deliver improved user experiences and system performance through new functionalities powered by artificial intelligence. The full version is expected to release in the summer of 2025, coinciding with the unveiling of Samsung’s next series of foldable smartphones.
Key Features of One UI 8
- AI-Powered Enhancements: The update introduces advanced AI capabilities, including multimodal interactions that combine voice and visual inputs, and personalized suggestions based on user behavior.
- Predictive Back Gesture: A feature from Android 15, previously absent in One UI 7, is now integrated, allowing users to preview the screen they will return to before completing the back gesture.
- Auracast Audio Sharing: Users can share audio to multiple devices, such as earbuds or hearing aids, via QR codes, eliminating the need for traditional Bluetooth pairing.
- Enhanced Multitasking: Improvements include a split-screen mode that lets users temporarily move one app aside while focusing on another, and a redesigned Reminder app for better task management.
- Quick Share and Samsung Internet Updates: Quick Share has been optimized for easier file sharing, and Samsung Internet features a redesigned interface with improved file-finding capabilities.
